Sports Magazine Project
For this project we started by reading Outcasts United by Warren St. John, then came together in groups of four. Next we picked a sport that we wanted to study and create a magazine about. Once group agreed to focus on soccer, we started creating the skeleton of our magazine.
Process:
Below you can find my final article that appeared in the magazine:
Process:
- First we created a research binder about soccer. The binder consisted of things like how to play soccer and famous soccer players, as well as the history of the sport.
- Next we created a pencil layout of our magazine which showed how the magazine would like when it was done.
- The next thing we did--besides starting our articles--was experience that sport. For about 2 hours during one school day, we went out and played soccer with our group and the soccer group in the other class.
- After that experience we spent most of our time writing our articles. We revised, re-wrote and edited so much, so that in the end we would have beautiful articles.
- When we finished writing we used Adobe PhotoShop to create our actual magazine pages, which consisted of the articles, images and ads.
- Then we went the Staples store to have our magazine pages printed and bound.
