Architecture Project!
The second floor of the house that my group designed.
Summary:
For this project we got in groups of four to design a house. We could build it anywhere we wanted and make it as big or as small as we wanted, as long we stayed within our budget. Each person was assigned to make blueprints for some part of the house: first floor, second floor, right side view, left side view, front. In the end we combined all of this, along with a budget and materials list, and created an architectural set.
Reflection:
My favorite part of the project was the process of making the blueprints. We made them on the computer on Google sketch-up. While it was a pretty involved process, it was a lot of fun! I think my biggest success was the second floor design of the house. I invested a lot of time and effort in it and really wanted it to look great. I think I accomplished that (see on the left). If I could do this project again I would communicate with my group more. We seemed to have trouble doing that, and as a result, some of the drafts were missing from the plans. I think that our plans, in general, could have used a little bit more revision.
